Instead of reinventing the wheel, we used a formula that is very successful and gives the athletes an easier way to raise money. You’re not looking for people to buy tickets – you’re asking them to sponsor you, and as a bonus they will be entered into a raffle for the chance to win $500.00. There is no pitch involved. You are not going to be selling cookies or other items. You are asking friends, neighbors, family members, teachers, and others to invest in YOU!
It’s not hard to walk up to someone and ask, “I am hoping to travel to the Europe to play softball next January, would you like to sponsor me? Sponsors will also be added into a raffle for the chance of winning $500.00!” It’s that simple. Yes, you are going to have to get out of your comfort zone, but given the option to travel to Europe to play ball, wouldn’t you do it?
